Bulls to take on Jets in Maitland Trial

Maitland Trial v Jets

In preparation for their 2020/21 A-League seasons, Newcastle Jets will take on new club Macarthur FC in a trial match at Maitland No.1 Sportsground on Thursday 26 November, kicking off at 5.15pm.

The match will be the first time football fans can watch Macarthur FC face a fellow A-League side as they enter the national football competition in their upcoming inaugural season.

With the year the community have experienced due to COVID-19, and the resulting lack of events that the public have been able to enjoy, Council is offering all general admission tickets for the game free of charge, with grandstand seats only being $5.00 per seat.

Mayor of Maitland Loretta Baker says, ‘It’s fantastic to have the Newcastle Jets back in Maitland and we’re excited to be able to offer the community an opportunity to enjoy a live A-League experience in accordance with our COVID Safe plan.

‘We’ve had a wonderful experience with the Jets over recent years and I encourage everyone to get their tickets and come along for what will no doubt be another great evening when they take on Macarthur FC.’

Macarthur FC Coach Ante Milicic said, “Being a new squad with new foreign and local players, the focus for the camp and match is coming together as a group and understanding each other.

“This is a good opportunity for the players and coaches to spend quality time together while getting to know each other, in an away game environment.” Milicic said.

“For us, this is a great dress rehearsal for us to plan for away fixtures in the A-League.” Milicic added.

Tickets for the match will be available from Tuesday 10 November at 12.00pm and can be secured online HERE.

Tickets are $5.00 for grandstand seating, while all general admission tickets, although free, must also be accessed from the ticketing website.

COVID-19 restrictions will be in place, which will see reduced attendance numbers, so get in early to secure your space.
